Our STEINGUSS is a fine-grained, weather-resistant and frostproof grout based on white cement. It is ideal for laminating and casting smaller figures in silicone moulds, where surface finish and exact moulding are particularly important. The self-compacting material is extremely flowable and sets very quickly. To individually adjust the flowability when working with the lamination technique, use our type D12 AR glass fibres .
Although designed for art and sculpture, our white stone cast material is appreciated not only by artists, but also by hobbyists who want to make frost-resistant reliefs in concrete moulds, or cast stone figures for their garden themselves.
The poured or laminated concrete made with STEINGUSS is very fine grained and is therefore ideal for the manufacture of artificial sandstone. In this technique, the surface is washed after demoulding using our SS4 acid etching agent, whereby the typical sandstone roughness arises.
We recommend using a plaster beaker and a metal spatula for mixing small quantities. Kitchen utensils are unsuitable for this.
STEINGUSS is white and can be coloured by adding pigments. The recommended maximum amount of colour pigments is 20 g per kg dry matter. The material sets in about 10 to 20 minutes depending on the ambient temperature and can be removed from the mould after 1 to 2 hours. This time can be shortened by using hot water for preparation.
