BASIL® is the perfect material for individual interior design with concrete. Made to easily cover floors, wall panels, furniture and other items with a thin but still durable concrete layer. The application is easy and trouble free for hobbyists.

BASIL® meets the extremely strict requirements of emission class EC1-plus of the GEV (GEV, Association for the Control of Emissions in Products for Flooring Installation, Adhesives and Building Materials e.V.), where it is registered under license number 5829 / 21.1108.
The particularly fine-grained ready-mixed mortar is extremely flowable and therefore flows on floors almost by itself to form a finished floor covering, which also withstands chair rollers and heels after setting. By adding our Type Q thickener, BASIL® becomes spreadable. Then it no longer flows and can be applied using the spatula technique on walls and other non-horizontal surfaces. Alternatively, our Type R thickener also enables processing by the spraying technique on vertical surfaces with a funnel spray gun.
The processing time is between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on temperature. The material is light grey and can be coloured by adding cement-compatible pigments. The recommended amount is a maximum of 250 g colour pigment per 25 kg bag.
BASIL® works on all stable substrates such as concrete screed, magnesia screed, anhydrite screed, dry screed, ceramic tiles, lightweight wall panels or chipboard. The layer thickness may vary from 2 to 25 mm, so that BASIL® also easily compensates for really uneven floors. Screeds and other absorbent substrates must be pretreated with our SQ penetrating primer.
Surfaces finished with BASIL® may also be sanded after 14 days. We recommend using a sanding screen with 120 grit. Floors in outdoor areas must be finished with our PUR-2.
